Project Description

Three Pillars Consulting supported the client in quantifying and reporting the carbon footprint of key products or services in alignment with international standards and life-cycle assessment (LCA) principles. This included data collection, emissions factor application, and scenario analysis to identify reduction opportunities. The project produced a clear and actionable footprint report, which enabled the client to improve sustainability performance, communicate environmental impact transparently, and guide low-carbon product strategy.

Product Carbon Footprint Assessment and Reporting

Three Pillars Consulting supported OQ RPI in quantifying and reporting the carbon footprint of selected refined and petrochemical products in alignment with ISO 14067, ISO 14040/44, and the GHG Protocol Product Standard, applying life-cycle assessment (LCA) principles. The assessment covered a cradle-to-gate life-cycle boundary, with methodologies tailored to the refining and downstream petrochemical sector and the client’s production context, including processing units, utilities, energy consumption, and upstream feedstock inputs.

The engagement included data collection and validation, emissions factor application, and scenario analysis to identify emissions reduction opportunities across the product life cycle. The resulting footprint enabled transparent product-level reporting and internal performance benchmarking, while providing a robust basis for low-carbon product strategy, customer disclosures, and future environmental product documentation.
