Project Description

Three Pillars Consulting supported the client in developing a comprehensive corporate carbon accounting system in line with international GHG protocols and best practices. This included scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions data collection, calculation methodologies, verification processes, and reporting guidance. The engagement enabled the client to accurately track and report emissions, identify reduction opportunities, and strengthen corporate sustainability performance for investors, regulators, and other stakeholders.

Three Pillars Consulting supported Oman Aluminium Rolling Company (OARC) in developing a comprehensive corporate carbon accounting approach aligned with the GHG Protocol, ISO 14064, and relevant metals manufacturing sector guidance, in line with international best practices. The engagement covered Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, and selected relevant Scope 3 categories, with methodologies tailored to the aluminium rolling and downstream manufacturing sector and the client’s asset-intensive operational context, including rolling mills, thermal and electrical energy use, process equipment, and supporting utilities. This ensured emissions were quantified in a consistent and transparent manner, reflecting real organizational and operational boundaries.

The work included development of data collection frameworks, emissions calculation methodologies, quality checks, and reporting guidance to support internal decision-making and external disclosures. The resulting carbon inventory enabled accurate emissions tracking and baseline establishment, while providing a robust foundation for decarbonization planning, target setting, sustainability disclosures, and continuous performance monitoring.
